Hesham El-Gharby is a USPA Certified Polo Instructor and began playing polo in Egypt at the age of 11 in 1968 and reached a 3-goal handicap in Egypt and the United States. He began teaching polo at Tinicum Park Polo Club in 1993 and received his U.S. Polo Association certification in 2016. He is currently the instructor and manager of Tinicum Park Polo Club and is a USPA certified umpire.
